Survey on standardisation and patenting behaviour of companies
Ladies and Gentlemen,
In the course of the initiative "Innovation with Norms and Standards"
of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany (BMWi), a
variety of projects regarding standardization is carried out,
accompanied by scientific basic research studies.
The basic research study "The Interrelation between Consensus Standards
and Patents" pursues the goal of examining the relationship between
patenting and the participation in the development of standards.
This study is based on a survey among standardizing and patenting
companies in Germany that was recently completed.
the potential findings of this study on the European level, the survey
is conducted among UK companies in cooperation with the BSI British
Your participation allows you to articulate your reasons
for and against participation in the standardization process, so that
institutions like the BSI British Standards Institution may adjust to
your concerns and will consider them.
Moreover, your responses
provide valuable support for the assessment of possible policy
recommendations, which may also be of benefit to your company.
Answering the questionnaire will take about ca. 20-25 minutes
On request, we will gladly send you a summary of the main findings of the study.
